Marketing & Social Media Assistant/Associate

As a Marketing & Social Media Assistant/Associate, your role is to manage our social media channels and develop content across our digital platforms. In this position, you will collaborate with internal teams and interact with clients. This assistant/associate will plan and implement social media campaigns and capture all content and assets. The ideal candidate is equal parts media planner, storyteller and content creator. You should possess an understanding of the latest trends in social media and how to capitalize on the opportunity to grow our community. Creative strategy & content creation is key.

Role and responsibilities

  • Create, curate and manage all published content on all social media platforms with a strong focus on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok
  • Develop social strategies across a range of social/digital platforms, while shaping client content, consumer-facing stories and messaging
  • Optimize our social media content based on platforms’ current algorithms
  • Maintain the GRXN brand and ensure it’s aligned with creative direction across all platforms
  • Assist with the planning of marketing strategies to help drive traffic and engagement
  • Pitch marketing ideas and strategy that align with our company vision
  • Drive social media traffic to our platform/website
  • Contribute to the execution of content calendars through social media copywriting, creative assets, activations and influencer program
  • Monitor, listen, interact and respond to social media users in our branded social voice
  • Manage customer service through social media channels and website inquiries including answering questions and responding to complaints
  • Draft press releases, pitches, web copy and other marketing assets
  • Develop media and seeding lists for footwear launches
  • Maintain a backlog of content and a seven-day out publishing schedule
  • Work cross functionally across departments to collaborate and support initiatives as needed and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Manage our library of content and provide access when needed
  • Develop weekly and quarterly social media and strategy reports

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business or Marketing
  • Fluency of major social platforms and creative best practices for results (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Clubhouse, Google, etc.)
  • Passion for social media, emerging social trends, creativity and audience-first thinking
  • 1-3 years of social media management
  • 1-3 years of content creation/development including photo and video editing
  • Excellent writing skills
  • A portfolio or examples of previous work
  • Self-motivated and driven with ability to take direction
  • Strong work ethic with a client-first attitude
  • Able to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Awareness of sneaker culture
